Our Puppy is having puppies... :) We had talked about breeding Aspen with my parents dog, Titan. So the middle of March we watched Titan for the week. That was definitely an adventure I will one day hopefully forget! ;) We counted the days and knew Aspen was supposed to have pups on May 19th. The weekend before the 19th we had a plan to set up a "nursery" for her in the garage. It was so interesting to see her start nesting in the house that weekend. I would leave a room and then find her in the back of the closet or behind a chair in the corner. We knew we need to work fast before she had those puppies in my bed! So we put her in the garage Sunday night, May 15th. I went to work the next day and when I had gotten home she had 6 puppies (talk about a close call). I was so excited, I sat in the garage with her that night for like 6 hours I think. It was so fun to watch her automatically know exactly what to do with each puppy. Her 7th puppy came out not breathing and I was told to breath in his nose and rub him. Aspen started doing that before I even knew what to do. Then Zane and I took turns with the little guy and never could get him to breath. After all was said and done we had 6 healthy males and 2 healthy females. I kept picking up puppies and trying to decide what they were and they were all the same it seemed like, but I finally found a couple of females.
The day before the pups came she had gained 20 pounds.
Exhausted after labor.
Sweet Momma Love.
Their first feeding.
Snuggling.
So sweet.
So little when they are first born.
Trying to compare then to Aspen's foot.
